A Message From our BridgeKids Leader

Happy New Year! 2020 is here! Thank you again to all who helped make our BridgeKids Christmas Pageant a huge success. Please pray for us as we plan activities and experiences that will help our children grow in the wisdom and knowledge of Jesus Christ this coming year.

One exciting opportunity is already planned for our 3rd-5th grade class. January’s curriculum theme is Faith in the Real World. We will be collecting items to be given to homeless people who live in our community. Mrs. Alex, one of the teachers of this group, has put together a list of items to be collected over the next several weeks with the target date to be assembled by January 26th.

What we need:

**Gallon size zip lock bags

**Bottled water

**Granola/Nutrigrain bars/small nut packs/sandwich cracker packs (soft food preferred)

**Hand and feet warmer packs

**$5-$10 gift cards to Subway, McDonalds or Burger King ONLY (these restaurants are readily available)

**Socks

**Thin rain ponchos (like the disposable ones they sell at events)

**Chapstick/lip balm

**Travel toothbrush/toothpaste

**Travel body wash/soap

**Washcloth

**Travel deodorant

You can bring these items in to the BK area any Sunday this month. The 3rd-5th grade will assemble them into the gallon size zip locks and Mrs. Alex will take care of distributing them.

Even though we’ve enjoyed some moderate weather so far, winter is sure to come to St. Mary’s County and we want to teach our children to have compassion for our homeless community. It would be great if you could have your kids do extra chores to earn $$ toward purchase of these items. We will be discussing this project over the next several Sundays and hope you will talk about this at home too.

Certainly, our other age groups can contribute to this project as you see fit. Thank you for letting us partner with you in Christian education for your child.
